What will movers not pack or move?
Movers Will Not Take Hazardous Goods, and Valuables Stay With You
Movers will not pack or carry anything that can leak, burn, or explode. That means propane tanks, gasoline, paint thinner, and most aerosols. It is not fussiness. These goods are unsafe in a sealed truck, and most companies are not allowed to haul them. Rules vary a little between companies, so ask for their list.
The usual no-go items: propane and butane tanks, even empty ones. Gasoline, jerry cans, and anything soaked in fuel. Paint thinner, solvents, and harsh cleaning chemicals. Fireworks and ammunition. Drain the lawn mower and the barbecue before move day. Leftover paint can go to a recycling depot or a neighbour.
Keep a few things with you instead of on the truck. Passports, jewelry, cash, and key documents should ride in your own car. Medications too. You may need them long before the truck is unloaded, so do not let them get boxed. A packed overnight bag for each person helps too.
Everything else is fair game. 1Pro's packing crews bring all the boxes and materials, with no minimum box count. Want the crew to handle every last cupboard? Full-service packing covers the whole house. Not sure about an item? Ask when you book, not on moving day.
