Most ocean freight companies never touch your cargo. They broker it and email you a tracking number. We're the other kind. Based in Surrey, BC, our own crew preps, wraps, crates, and manifests what you're shipping, then moves it through the Port of Vancouver. Full or shared containers, port to port or door to door.

That covers household goods, business inventory, equipment, and partial loads. Since 1999 we've shipped from BC to 200+ countries. Call (604) 721-4555 with what you're shipping and where it's going, and you'll get a fixed freight quote in writing.

FCL or LCL: which ocean freight option fits your load?

FCL means full container load: the whole box is yours, sealed at loading and opened at destination. LCL means less than container load: your goods share a container with other shipments, and you pay only for the space you use.

The trade-off is simple. FCL costs more, but nothing else rides with your goods. LCL is cheaper for small loads, but it waits for the shared container to fill and takes longer to sort at destination. We'll tell you where the break-even sits for your load.

  • FCL: the whole container, sealed at your loading
  • LCL: pay only for the space your goods use
  • Both quoted fixed, in writing, before anything ships
  • Households, business stock, and equipment all welcome

How ocean freight moves through the Port of Vancouver

Your cargo is wrapped and crated where it sits, at your home or your shop. We build the manifest as we pack, because destination customs reads that list line by line. Then the load trucks to the Port of Vancouver and sails.

Shipping a full household abroad? Start at overseas moving, which adds export packing and delivery at the far end. Want the whole box to yourself? Container shipping covers the 20 and 40 foot options. Everything else about moving abroad lives on our international moving page.

Common questions

What is the difference between FCL and LCL for a household move?

FCL gives you the whole container; LCL rents you space inside a shared one. A full household usually justifies FCL, since it's sealed at your door and nothing else travels with it. A few rooms of furniture fit LCL and cost much less. When it's close, we quote both and let you pick.

Do freight forwarders pack household goods?

Most don't. A forwarder books space on a ship, and the packing is your problem or gets passed to whoever's cheap that week. We're movers who do freight, so the same crew that wraps your furniture builds the crates, loads the container, and writes the manifest. One company, one responsible party.

Which Vancouver terminal will my container ship from?

It depends on the shipping line, since each line works from its own terminal at the Port of Vancouver. We confirm the terminal and the sailing when we book your container, and it's on your paperwork. If we're loading at your door, you never need to visit the port at all.

Can a small business ship stock or equipment by ocean freight?

Yes. We ship business inventory, tools, and equipment as well as households, in full or shared containers. Everything is crated and manifested by our own crew, and the quote is fixed in writing before it ships. Tell us what it is, roughly how much, and the destination.
