Search for lab movers around Metro Vancouver and you'll find almost nobody lists it. We do. Lab moving has been on our books for years, run from our base in Surrey, BC. A lab move is an inventory job first: every instrument, fridge, and bench gets a numbered label and a line on the move list, and that list gets checked at load and again at delivery.

We move university labs, clinic labs, and private labs, on their own or as part of a bigger commercial move. Call (604) 721-4555 and walk us through your equipment list. You'll get a free site visit and a fixed written quote, with no hidden fees.

Clean, organized 1Pro truck loaded and strapped for a lab equipment move

How we move lab equipment without damage

Each item gets its own handling plan. Transport locks get engaged where the instrument has them. We follow the manufacturer's moving instructions when you can share them, wrap and pad everything, and crate the pieces that need hard sides. Nothing rides loose, and nothing stacks on top of an instrument.

In the truck, equipment gets strapped to the rails with pads between every surface. One customer summed up our loading in a review: two full five-ton trucks, loaded and unloaded, with no damage.

  • Numbered inventory list, checked at load and at delivery
  • Manufacturer moving instructions followed when provided
  • Transport locks, padded wrap, and crating for sensitive units
  • Straps and pads so nothing shifts in transit

Planning your lab move, item by item

Before the move, we walk the lab with your manager and build the plan together. Who powers down which unit, which vendor decommissions the instruments that need it, and which day each room moves. Your staff or courier carries the samples. We move the equipment, and we time it so fridges and freezers sit off power for as little time as possible.

Heavy pieces like fume hoods and floor-standing analyzers get the same crew and rigging we use for oversized item moving. And if the lab sits inside a larger workplace move, we fold it into the office moving plan so both land on the same weekend.

Common questions

How is laboratory equipment moved safely?

One item at a time, on a written inventory. Each instrument gets its transport locks engaged, padded wrap or a crate, and a numbered label. In the truck, everything gets strapped so nothing shifts, and nothing stacks on an instrument. The list gets checked off again at delivery, so you can see every item arrived.

Do lab movers handle calibration-sensitive instruments?

Yes, with a plan and honest limits. We follow the manufacturer's moving instructions, engage transport locks, and crate sensitive units so they ride flat and padded. Most calibration-sensitive instruments still need a check by your service tech after any move. Our job is a move so careful that the check goes fast.

Who moves fridges and freezers with samples?

We move the fridges and freezers. The samples usually travel with your lab staff or a medical courier, in coolers, on the same day. We load the cold units last and unload them first, so they get back on power fast at the new lab.

How much does a lab move cost in Metro Vancouver?

Every lab is different, so we quote from your equipment list and a free site visit. The quote is fixed, with no travel time or fuel charges and no hidden fees. Call (604) 721-4555 with your list and both addresses, and you'll have a written number the same day.
